First Test in F3 Car
I've done my first test at Silverstone in the Formula 3 car. What can
I say apart from it's an engineering masterpiece! The car is much bigger
and more efficient than the Jedi. It took the day to adapt to the different
driving technique of left foot braking and not using the clutch going
up and down the gearbox once on track running. However by the last
session I was getting to grips with it. My next test is on the 17th
of February at Silverstone. This will help prepare me for the opening
round at Silverstone in April.
Kat Selected for AASE
On the 18th and 19th of January I was lucky enough
to go to the Porsche performance centre at Silverstone to work with the
top fitness coaches in the sport (who train the likes of Mark Webber
and Jenson Button), along with the other drivers chosen for the MSA Academy.
As part of the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE)
I did various different fitness tests - which was very interesting and
showed exactly where I need to improve. David Brabham Le Mans 24 hour
and American Le Mans Series champion in 2009 was there to give us young
drivers an insight to what it's like to be at the top end of the sport
as a professional driver. It was very interesting and incredibly inspiring.
